LAUSD Policy Regarding Fevers

This is a reminder to all families about the LAUSD 24-hour policy regarding fevers and the use of fever-reducing medication. If your child has a fever, they must remain at home for at least 24 hours after their fever has subsided without the use of fever-reducing medication such as Tylenol or Motrin.

This policy is in place to help ensure the health and safety of all students, especially in light of the significant flu spike we have seen nationwide this year. Sending a child to school with a fever increases the risk of spreading illness to others, and it is important that we all work together to minimize this risk.

We kindly ask that you follow this policy and ensure your child is fever-free for 24 hours without using Tylenol or Motrin before returning to school. Should you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact the school nurse.

Thank you for your attention to this matter and your cooperation in keeping our school community healthy.
